Dog Agility Club of Long Island
In addition to planning and holding trials and dog-related events, DACLI finds it important to be committed to the community. DACLI has donated to the Suffolk County Police Department, partnered with the Long Island Golden Retriever Club to collect donations for US troops in Afghanistan, and welcomes local 4-H members to come to agility trials at the Suffolk County Farm to learn more about the sport of dogs and how they can participate.
The Dog Agility Club of Long Island originally formed in 2011 as an agility club, as a collaboration between founder Cindy Medina and her friends from agility trials on Long Island. Over the years the club has expanded to offer not only AKC and CPE agility trials, but also AKC obedience, rally, and scent work. Many of the founding members of DACLI are still active in the club today. While many members of DACLI have been active in dog sports for over 10 years, the club welcomes new members with open arms to learn and compete with their dogs in a club that encourages member participation to help make our events run smoothly. DACLI members believe that all ideas and suggestions should be heard as we try to run the best club possible to support a friendly environment for a wide variety of dog sports on Long Island.
